BAND AT PRISON

MORNING SERVICE ATTENDED Prisoners who attended tho Anglican service at the Auckland prison yesterday morning received a pleasant surprise when they found the band of the Auckland Regiment, under the leadership of Lieutenant (J. W. Bowes, in attendance. Jll addition to playing the hymns during the service the band entertained tho prisoners with march selections before and after the meeting. Tho service was conducted by Captain S. 11. Banyard, of the Church Army, who gave a short address on the subject, "God Working To-dav." On behalf of the men the preacliez thanked the band for its attendance and also expressed appreciation of the efforts of Captain D. Caswell, an officer of the Church Army on the committee of the band, in arranging the visit.
