ENGLAND AND AMERICA BUDGE DEFEATS PERRY (Received July If), 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, July 18 In the Anglo-American lawn tennis match, which is being played under Davis Cup conditions at Eastbourne, J. D. Budge and B. Grant defeated G. P. Hughes and C. IL D. Tuckey, 6—4, 6—2, 10—8. I ho losers comprise Britain's doubles pair for the challenge round against the winner of the Davis Cup inter-zone final, which was played at Wimbledon to-day. Budge to-day defeated Perry, i)— 7, 7—5, B—lo, 7 —5, and Austin defeated Grant, 6—o, 6—2, 6—2.
