MONOWAI'S CRUISE
VISIT TO FIJI GROUP . ISLANDS TRIP ENDING In the course of her holiday cruise to a number of Pacific Island groups, the Union Company's liner Monowai arrived at Levuka at daylight on Friday morning, according to a radio message received from the vessel at Auckland on Saturday. The weather was fine, but owing to the strong trade wind blowing it was not possible to berth such a largo vessel at the wharf, and the passengers were taken ashore in the ship s boats. The passengers enjoyed the peaceful charm of Fiji's old capital. The programme of entertainment arranged by the residents of Levuka included native dances and visits to the Cawaci Mission Station. The Monowai left Levuka early in the afternoon nnd arrived at Suva at 5.30 p.m. on Friday. She left Suva at 11 p.m. on Saturday for Auckland, where aha is due on Wednesday.
