KAUKAPAKAPA CROQUET

The annual general meeting of the Xaukapakapa Croquet Club was held on Saturday. The report and balance-sheet were read by the club secretary, Mrs. Downer, and showed that the club had had a splendid season both socially and financially./ The following officers were elected: — President, Mrs. It. Downer; vice-presi-dents, Mesdames Mobbe'rley and Bucton; secretary, Mrs. E. A. Shanks (pro. tem.); committee, Mesdames Ranum, Sommerville, Lamont; match committee, iMesdames Downer, Shanks, Ranum; selector, Mrs. McKenzie; delegate to association, Mrs. R. Downer; green superintendent, Mr. ' E. A. Shanks; hon. auditor, Mr. W. V. Jones. The retiring president (Mrs. Betteridge) was thanked for her efforts in promoting the club's welfare. Later, Sirs. Betteridge presented Mrs. Downer ,(the retiring secretary) with a fruit dish and salad set from club members in appreciation of the work she had performed as secretary.
