VALUES AT TAURANGA

i - HEARING OF OBJECTIONS [by telegraph —OWN correspondent] TAURANGA, Wednesday A sitting of tho Assessment Court to hear objections to new valuations in the borough of Tauranga was continued to-day. Mr. J. G. L. Hewitt, S.M., presided and had associated with him Mr. J. C. Potts, Government assessor, and Mr. E. L. Broad. Borough Council assessor. The Court sat all day, hearing evidence in respect of valuations mado bv the Government valuer. Only a few minor decisions were mado. At the suggestion of the president, the Court adjourned so that a conference could be held in respect of tho Borough Council's request to raise certain valuations. The conference is to bo hold between counsel for objectors, the borough solicitor and the district valuer. The Court will sit at To Puke to-morrow, and later in the week the sitting at Tauranga will be resumed.
