AUCKLAND CHEMISTS
ANNUAL BALL HELD A SUCCESSFUL FUNCTION The Peter Pan Cabaret was the scene of a bright and successful ball given by the Auckland Chemists' Sports and Entertainment Association last evening. Tall stands of palms and bamboo foliage, combined with the maroon and gold colours of the association, provided a restful and picturesque setting for the large gathering of guests. An exhibition of ballroom dancing by Miss Margaret O'Connor and Mr. Priestley and « tap dance by Mrs. G. Cox and Mr. G. Hall were enthusiastically encored. The guests were received by tho president, Mr. W. G. Gray, and Mrs. Gray, who wore a graceful frock of black ring velvet. The chaperones and members of tho ladies' committee present were: Mrs. W. H. Me Kinney, who wore, black Chantill.v lace with a shoulder spray of red roses; Mrs. T. W. Irwin, in midnight blue crepe and silver lame; Mrs. R. Cotter all, phlox pink suede threaded with silver; Mrs. R. Owens, blue brocaded taffeta; Mrs. H. 11.I 1 . King, green and rose floral chiffon; Mrs. J. A. Eccles, rose pink taffeta. • Others present were: —Mrs. T. Long, who wore turquoise blue metalasse; Mrs. ,J. Kelly, black georgette and lace; Mrs. E. H.
