ELLERSLIE CLUB'S SEASON NEW MEMBERS ELECTED There was a good attendance at the annual meeting of the Ellerslie Bowling Club. The president, Mr. H. R. Johnson, presided. The report stated that the silver jubileo of the club was commemorated by tho laying down of a new green, which will be ready for play next season. The finances wero in a good position Twenty-six new members were elected during tho year. Sunday play was now in operation, and tho popular Cox pennant was won by the club. The report expresses regret at the deaths of two members, Messrs. J. Lucena and T. Macklow. < Tho election of officers resulted as follows: —Patron, Mr. W. J. Jordan, M.P.; president, Mr. 11. NEW ZEALAND PLAYERS MATCHES IN QUEENSLAND (Received July 7, 0.5 p.m.) BRISBANE, July 7 Tho New Zealand howlers played at Yoronga yesterday. Parker's rink won by 27 to 11, Waters, Rockett and two Victorians won by •_'<! to 10, and Harrison, Higgott and two Victorians lost by 18 to •_»I. In a match to-day at Hamilton Parker's rink won by 'Jd to 8, Hockett and threo Victorians won by .'VJ to IH, and Harrison, Higgott and two Victorians won by 'JL to 10.
