RISING HOSPITAL LEVY
" This is something that always goes up," said a member at a meeting of the Tuakau Town Board when the amount of the Auckland Hospital Board's levy for the current year had been announced. The clerk, Mr. M. It. 1). McGahan, said the levy was £l6 greater than last year, being £2OB as against £192. Another member said the levy seemed to be increasing indefinitely, but a third expressed the view that it would not be long before it was abolished altogether, and that all hospital costs would be made a national mat ter.
