ALARM IN HAWKE'S BAY PROPOSALS AT CONFERENCE [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] WAIPUKUKAU, Tuesday Tbe rapidity with which noxious weeds, such as thistle and ragwort, are spreading in Hawke's Bay, is alarming farmers. All the county councils of tlie district, except Wairoa, were represented at a conference held at Waipukurau to consider means of checking the menace. Tlie conference decided to recommend that rabbit inspectors should undertake to report cases of neglect, to enable tho Department of Agriculture to take action against the property-owners concerned. It was also recommended that tho Government should subsidise rabbit boards in view of the extra cost to them.
