OBITUARY
MRS. E. A. GILLMAN The death has occurred of Mrs. E. A. Gillmsyi, of Onehunga, who arrived in Auckland with her parents by the shi]) Joseph Fletcher 80 years ago. Mrs. Gillman, whose maiden name was Harris, was born in Cornwall in 1817. Shortly after their arrival, her family took lip land at Matakana, but, owing to the threats of the Maoris, were forced to seek refuge in the town. Mr. Harris subsequently farmed land in the To Pa papa district and served in tho militia. Mrs. Gillman was twice married, first at the age of 19, to Mr. Anthony Snell, then farming at Swanson, and,'in .1885, to Mr. T. R. Gillman, then in business in Onehunga, Air. Gillman died 18 years ago at the age of 91. Mrs, Gillman has lived in Onehunga for the past 51 years in tliei one house. She is survived by two sons and four daughters. There are eight grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren.
