RADIO IN AMERICA

AUSTRALIAN OFFICIAL'S TOUR HIGH TECHNICAL EFFICIENCY (Received June 16, 5.5 p.m.) NEW YORK. June 15 The manager of the Australian Broadcasting Commission, Mr. T. W. Bearup, after a study of American conditions, states that three aspects of broadcasting in the United States are particularly impressive. These are: The unremitting effort to make educational programmes and even charitable appeals good entertainment; the care and expense lavished upon acoustical facilities and studies and finally the high technical proficiency in broadcasting transmission. After a stay of a fortnight in New York, Mr. Bearup will proceed to Europe to continue his inquiries.
