FURTHER DEVELOPMENT There is no end to developments in the air. The Cierva Autogiro Company has taken on a patent in America for an experimental living motor-car —a machine which can run along the roads under its own power and also fly, states the London correspondent of tho Melbourne Herald. Tho machine will bo a two-seater, passenger and pilot sitting side by side in an enclosed cabin. The !>0 h.p. engine will bo mounted behind the seat, and the drive can be taken through any one of three different shafts, one going back to tho rear wheel for driving tbo machine along the road, one to the lifting motor for tho take-off, and tho third to tho dual air-screws for ordinary flight. It may come true. .Man's flying progress has boon so amazing of recent years that the time may be approaching when we will all bo winged mariners of tho air. It will bo a great day when paterfamilias, out with mother and the femiilv, suddenly leaves the dusty main toad when in a hurry and takes to the ekiey, trackway*
