ESTATE WORTH £64,008 FORMER NEW ZEALANDER (Received Juno 4. 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, Juno i The late Colonel Joseph MacNaughfcan Christie, a former, resident of Wellington, left an estate valued at £64,008 ii The death of Colonel Christie occurred in London on March 31. He was born at Glasgow on May 5, 1871, and after a high school education ho attended. Glasgow University, where he studied medicine. He later came to New Zealand, where ho held positions on the stall's, of the New" Plymouth and Wanganui Hospitals. In 1916 and 1917 ho vvas surgical specialist on the hospital ship Maheno, and from 1917 to 1920 was consulting surgeon the military forces in New Zealand. From 1921 to 1923 ])r. Christie acted as president of the War Pensions Medical Appeal Board for New Zealand, and also served as New Zealand representative on tho League of Red Cross Societies. Dr. Christie married Miss Vita Alice Mary Bavley, elder daughter of Mr. Reginald Bayley, of New Plymouth.
