AFTERNOON RECEPTION
The lounge of the Lyceum Club had been charmingly arranged with bowls of rich autumn-toned hydrangeas and chrysanthemums yesterday, when Mrs. C. H. T. Palmer, wife of the president of the Auckland branch of the Navy League, entertained the wives of the executive of the Navy League at an afternoon ' reception. To receive her guests Mrs. Palmer wore a navy blue and white crepe .ensemble with squirrel furs and a navy blue hat. The guests included: —The Lady Evelyn Drummond, Mrs. W. H. Parkes, Mrs. Oliver Bevir, Mrs. J. B. Hall, Mrs. J. T. Lean, Mrs. C. B. Tinley, Mrs. Taylor-Young, Mrs. Wyvern Wilson, Mrs. H. Tiarks, Mrs. J. H. Frater, Mrs. 0. A. Whitney, Mrs. John Alexander, Mrs. Gillies Borrie, Mrs. Cle-laqd-Pottie, Mrs. A. M. Ferguson, Mrs. Trevor Holmden, Mrs. R. G. Milligan, Mrs. H. F. Holmden, Mrs. G. H. Palmer, Mrs. S. A. Burt, Mrs. H. Goldie, Mrs. S. Leah, Mrs. A. G. Lunn, Mrs. 11. P. Nisbet, Mrs. C. Webber, Mrs. J. Streater, Mfs. Chudley (Wellington), Mrs. H. Melvin, Mrs. T. H. Palmer, Mrs. M. Shera, Mrs. BischoffMadden, Mrs. W.
