TOUR IN AUSTRALIA SUCCESS IN OPENING MATCH (Received June 2, 9.16 p.m.) SYDNEY. June 2 The visiting Auckland bowlers opened their tour to-day by defeating Marrickville 52—47. A. J. Parker's rink lost by 15 —19, A. Fish's rink won by 20—15 and G. Deare's rink won by 17—13.'

The party of Auckland bowlers, who left Auckland by the Monowai on Friday on a visit to Sydney and Brisbane, consisted of Messrs. A. J. Parker, S. J. Franklin, S. Dadley, H. Bockett, F. Binns, J. Waters, H. Jenkin, R. Higgott, J. Harrison and A. Fish. The tourists were joined in Sydney by G. Deare, formerly of Dunedin, whose rink won the Dominion championship in 1931, F. Whittle and J. Y. Dixon, ex-Aucklanders, and G. Redmond. Auckland, who is at present on a visit to Sydney. .
