BOY'S SERIOUS INJURIES

FRACTURE OF THE SKULL

As a result of being kicked by a horse Richard Peers-Adams, aged 14 years, son of Mr. A. Peers-Adams, of Maungakaramea, received a fracture of the base of the skull and injuries to the brain. He was brought to the Whangarei Hospital in-a truck belonging to the Post and Telegraph Department, and was operated on this evening. His condition is serious. The boy was walking home from the Maungakaramea - School shortly after three o'clock this afternoon when he was kicked by a horse ridden by another schoolboy. The Post and Telegraph truck was in the vicinity at the time and the lad was taken to hospital immediately. Maungakaramea is about 14 miles from Whangarei.
