INDIAN CRICKETERS

AFFECTED BY COLD WEATHER A report that the cold weather experienced during early May prevented the Indian cricketers at present touring England from revealing their best form recalls the fact that New Zealand players who have visited England have made the same complaint. Members of both New Zealand teams which toured England, stated that during the early part of the season they were forced to wear two sweaters, and even then they failed to keep warm. With the players' hands in a freezing condition, it was only natural that the team's fielding and catching at least would deteriorate. C. 0. Dacre, the former Now Zealand representative, at present playing for Gloucester, stated that batsmen were sometimes forced to sit before a fire in the pavilion prior to going to the crease* One can appreciate how the Indians, used to a tropical climate, are faring, under the English conditions.
