BIGAMY ALLEGED
CHARGE AGAINST DOMESTIC [BT TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] CHRISTCHURCH, Tuesday . A domestic, Mary Amelia Reynolds,: aged 42, pleaded not guilty to' a charge of bigamy in tlio Magistrate's Court this morning, when she was committed for trial. Evidence was given by William Reynolds, a labourer, of Blenheim, that he married the accused at Blenheim in 1913. Two years later she left him and went to Wellington. He did not think his wife could read or write when she married him. Police evidence was given' that in & statement the accused said before her second marriage she had been drinking. . , Richard Edward Roe, a stevedore, of Lyttelton, said he married the acs cused in 1924. She said she was widow. Five years after her marriage she said, "I may as well tell you that my first husband is still alive. Shf fiiiallv left him in 3933. Ball of £SOO was allowed.
