LEAGUE OF MOTHERS
A largo gathering of ladies was addressed by Mrs. S. 0. English, provincial president of the League of Mothers, in the Mangero East Methodist Hall on Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. English took as her subject "The Aims and Objects of the League," the sanctity of marriage being particularly stressed by tho speaker. Mrs. Pheasant presented Mrs. English with a beautiful bouquet on behalf of those present. It was decided to form a branch of the leagtio, and the following officers were elected: —President, Mrs. 0. S. McCallum; vice-president, Mrs. V. C. Hardie; secretary, Mrs. J. 'fait; treasurer, Miss Solomon. Sixteen members were enrolled. Afternoon tea brought a happy afternoon to a close. Manurewa. —This branch held a very successful " Fathers' Evening " in the local Town Hall, Mrs. A. C. A. Sexton presiding. The guests were entertained with a splendid programme of muaic v And elocutionary items, which was much appreciated. Supper was provided by the members.
