FIRE AT FACTORY

FLAMES FROM BURNING OIL Blazing oil and fat caused flames to leap above the top of the main chimney in the tin factory of Messrs. Alex Harvey and Sons in St. George's Bay Road, Parnell, shortly after noon yesterday. The fire commenced when flames from a furnace ignited a thin covering of oil on the surface of a pot of molten tin.

The flames spread to tho chimney, where an accumulation of fat caught fire. Engines from the Central and Parnell fire stations were called and, although hindered by lack of water pressure, the firemen subdued the outbreak without difficulty.
