HILLSBOROUGH TOURNAMENT
The section winners in the pairs tournament held by the Hillsborough Bowling Club were as followsSection A, Stringer (Hillsborough); section B, Moors (Henderson). The final will be played on Wednesday afternoon. NEW GREEN AT PAPAKURA The president, Mr. S. D. Rice, presided over tho annual meetine of the Papakura Bowling Club lost evening. The secretary. Mr. T,. F. Snell, reported that the club's new green was now completed, and that fairly heavy expenditure would be necesr nary to purchase new equipment durinu thtj coming season. The statement of act counts revealed a credit balance of '£3 14a. As a mark of respect members stood in silence "in memory of the late Messrs. W. A. Boagay and G. C. Hobfiori. members of the club. It was decided not to play pennant matches this season or competitions oij Saturdays. ' . The president extended to the chairman. Mr H. E. McEntee, and members of the Town Board, the club's appreciation of the generous manner in which the board had facilitated the work of laying down the new creen for the club. It was decided to change the playing area of the club from old Wairoa Road to the Village Green. Officers were elected as follows Patron. Mr E. D. Mclennan: president Mr. ,8. D Rice: vice-presidents, Messrs. H. Hammond. T. G. Smith: secretary,: Mr. T, F. Snell: treasurer, Mr. S. L. Anderson: committee. Messrs. J. Cooper. A. 'G. Smith. F Kirton; green superintendent, Mr. T G. Smith; auditor. Mr. J. F. Johnstone. The: following trophies were presented:— Championship singles, Mr. S. L. Anderson j handicap ' singles. Mr. A. Hammond.
