FALL UNDER ENGINE

RAILWAY YARD ACCIDENT CLEANER IN HOSPITAL Tripping and falling before a moving engine in the railway yards shortly before two o'clock yesterday a cleaner, Mr. Wilfred John Pratt, aged 25, married, of Anglesea Street, Ponsonbv, had a narrow escape from death. The cowcatcher actually passed over him, but the engine was stopped. It had to be jacked up in order to release Mr. Pratt.

Mr. Pratt was running alongside, but slightly in front of the engine, when the accident occurred. He was taken to the Auckland Hospital by a St. John ambulance. He is suffering from lacerations to the leg.and shock and his condition last night was serious.
