MOBILE POST OFFICES

BRITISH INNOVATION EMERGENCY TELEPHONE CALLS British Wireless RUGBY, May 24 Interesting developments which will be'introduced shortly by the Post Office authorities include a method by which emergency telephone calls are to recoive priority and instant response, the establishment of postal inquiry bureaux in large towns and the introduction of mobile post offices. The last-mentioned are to be hauled by tractors and will be taken to important functions and sports meetings. The coach will be equipped with modern instruments for the transmission of telegrams and will be connected with the nearest telegraph offiffe by temporary cables. The same means of temporary cable connection will make it possible to include a telephone service, and there will be two telephones with access at the rear of the coach. In addition there will be stampvending machines and a letterbox, and the collection of letters and parcels will be made as from an ordinary post office.
