WHANGAREI COMPETITIONS LADIES' COURSE RECORD [from our own correspondent] WHANGAREI, Monday The second round of the club handicap (four medal rounds) was played during the week-end by members of the Whangarei Golf Club. The medal round played in conjunction was von by S. Weston, 84, 12 —72. Other good scores were:—E. W. Thomson, 85, 12—73; L. R. Nelson, 99, 26—73; A. R. Gillespie, 84, 9—75; H. F. A. J. SHAW IN FORM NEW WAIWETU RECORD I.B'S TELEGRAPH —PRBS.S ASSOCIATION) WELLINGTON, Monday A. J. Shaw, ex open and professional golf chnmpion of the Dominion, in brilliant form on the Waiwetu links, covered the course in 69 in the morning. Then he established a new record for the course by doing 68 in the afternoon, going out in 32 and returning in 36. The standard scratch score of the links is 70.
