M. Macalister. of Invercargill. Miss Macalister has been a menber of the society for only three years. I°,; her first year she won the bronze staTi. last year the silver star, and this year the highest award given by the society., indicating the great progress she MS made. Her work is so highly thoURDj of in London that the Sketch pubhsnea-j six copies of it. One of them, a skew®? of a Scotch terrier, her own dog, was reproduced on the cover of the Roy* l -: Drawing Society's catalogue last J ca . r ' London criticism of this 15-year-oKj artist's work stated that it ran*®" among the most distinguished exhil»t» of 1936. The society intends to the sketch of tho dog to its perroanen collection.
