SMALL NUGGET FOUND
QUEENSTOWN PARTY'S LUCK WEIGHT OF 50Z. 14DWT. [by telegraph—owx correspondent] DUNEDIN. Wednesday It is many years since a nugget of appreciable size was recovered from any of the claims in the Queenstown district and some excitement was created in mining circles when a nugget weighing soz. 14dwt. was brought into Queenstown on Tuesday by a party of miners working near the outlet of Bailors Creek in the Shotover River. In, the parcel were several other pieces of gold» two of which turned the scale at over an ounce. _ The men have not been working very long on this particular claim. The pa • dock from which the return was o tained is about 20ft. deep. The comprises Messrs. A. i». Short, Callum, Rogers and McDotigall.
