'A dance held by the Taneatua TenSis Club took the' form of a farewell to one oi: the club members, Mr. J. .Old, who h;is been transferred to Christjchurch. During the supper interval the president, Mr. Larmen, on behalf of club members, presented Mr. Old with a cheque and Mr. V. Mead, president of tie Taneatua Citizens' Goodwill Committer, presented the departing guest with a leather suitcase. Those present included:—Mrs. C. T. Old, Mrs. S. T. Middlemas, Mrs. W. H. Between 60 and 70 members of the Taneatua Presbyterian Bible Class and friends hold a social evening in the uiurch hall last week to farewell Mr. J. Old. The guest of honour was presented with a cheque. Mra. E. Gray, of New Plymouth, is a visitor to Whakatane. She is accompanied by Miss 0. Cooper, of New 'Plymouth.

Mrs. J. Foster, of Queen Street, Cambridge, is visiting her daughter, ,® - V C. Halverson, Ohope Beach. Mrs. E. D. Skeat, of Thornton, is Spending a short holiday with relatives *0 Auckland. With her is Miss Mary workman, of Vancouver, who intends to Jiake her home with her sister, Mrs. m*' orn^on - Mrs. A. Leith, of Ellerslie, is the Butst of Mrs. G. Leitch, at Taneatun. W.
