NORTHERN RAILWAY
Support for the request of nine North Auckland bodies for the completion of the railway gap between Dargaville and Tangowahme, is given in a letter sent by the executive of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce to the Minister of Publio Works, the Hon. R. Semple. It is pointed out that although 11 miles are not being operated, only one and a-half miles of construction are needed to close the gap. The importance of the work to North Auckland is stressed, and it is stated that the Dargaville Chamber of Commerce had assured the Auckland chamber that the people of Northern Wairoa would support the line.
