SPECIAL AUCKLAND FORECAST DULL, WITH RAIN LATER The Government meteorologist issued to the Hesald last evening tne following special forecast, for the Auckland Province:—Moderate to strong east to north-easterly winds, rising to gale force in the Far North. The weather is likely to become dull and misty, witli fairly general rain developing later. 5 Some heavy falls are probable. Sam moderate, but becoming rough on tha East Coast. . ■ YESTERDAY'S WEATHER. Auckland.—Calm sunny weather and almost summer conditions were experienced yesterday. The temperature was remarkably mild, the thermometer at 4 p.m. recording 62 degrees. The barometer fell slightly, early in the afternoon and then remained steady. The minimum temperature during Tuesday night was 53 degrees and the maximum yesterday was 56.8 degrees. *

Christchurch.—Overcast and chilly weather was experienced with a maximum temperature of 48 degrees and a minimum of 39. A moderate northeasterly breeze in the morning freshened in the afternoon. The barometer, after falling, was steady last night at 30.25 in. »

(Dunedin.—tThe sun shone brightly and conditions were mild. - The maximum temperature was the highest recorded for a considerable period, the thermometer reading 61 degrees early in the afternoon. The barometer continued to be high.
