AMATEUR ATHLETICS
WINTER COMPETITIONS The Auckland Amateur Athletic and Cycle Club will continue its winter competitions at the Outer Domain to-morrow afternoon, commencing at two o'clock sharp, when four events will be decided. Adjustments for the shot putt and discus throw will be declared 011 the ground. The handicaps declared by Mr. W. Morton for tho sprint race and the steeplechase are as follows :

.-1 Amateur Athletic Club's sports meetinK held in Jubilee Park wiis nn ouffllnnding success, both from a financial and competitive point of view.
The arrangements for tile meeting were excellent, although it was only three weeks ago that the first meeting to form a club was held. The keenness displayed by tho members, and the assiduous work of the secretary, Mr. Eric Montgomery, and the pusidenl, Mr. R. C. Steel, enabled the meeting to be brought to 11 successful conclusion, and amateur athletics has come to stay. A great assistance to the club was the permission of the school committee to allow the Herbert. Smith Trust cups to be run in conjunction with the sports.
