SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP SECOND SERIES TO-MORROW MOUNT ALBERT AND DEVONPORT The second series of matches in the senior championship of the Auckland Rugby I X'aguo will bo played at Carlaw Park to-morrow when lour panics are set clown for decision. Judging on the form shown last Saturday, lootball of a high standard is anticipated in the principal attraction at three o'clock between Mount Albert and Devonport. The players of both teams did well under bad conditions and considerable improvement in form can be expected on a dry ground. Mount Albert scored a close but well-deserved win over Newton last Saturday, while Devonport overwhelmed Manukau, the new senior thirteen. Under favourable conditions a fast and exciting match should result.
The curtain-raiser to tho chief mutch will be provided by Newton and Alurist. J his contest should also be close and interesting. Both teams play tho open type of nam# and have capable back lines. The result wilt depend a good deal on tho forwards, who appear to bu evenly matched. City and Ponsonby will try conclusions nt three o'clock oil the No. - ground and after tho former's good showing against Marist it should prove difficult to beat. However, on a dry ground Ponsonby will be a dangerous attacking force. In tho curtainraiser tho Manukau side will bo faced with a strong team in Richmond, last seasons champions.
