HOCKEY
OPENING OF SEASON FOUR SENIOR CONTESTS SOMERVILLE TO MEET Y.M.C.A. There is a record entry of teams for the opening of the hockey season tomorrow, including eight in the senior grade. This will make possible four senior matches each week, two being played at the Remuera grounds and two at Papatoetoe. Tlio principal game at Remuera will bo between the newly promoted Y.M.C.A. team, which appears very strong on paper, and Somerville. This will he played on tho No. 2 ground at 1t.5 p.m., and will be preceded by a match between Grammar Old Boys, a team which was highly successful lust year, and Mount Eden. A much-strengthened Papatoetoe team will play on its home ground against University, while another interesting match to he played at Papatoetoe at the same time, 2,:!0 p.m., will be between Training College and St. 'Luke's.
