OLYMPIC BOXER

AUSTRALIAN WITHDRAWS COHEN'S REASON FOR ACTION SYDNEY, April 28 The Daily Telegraph's boxing writer states that it is because Harry Cohen, boxer, feared that his Jewish faith might involve him in trouble in Germany that he withdrew from the Australian Olympic Games team. Cohen is reported to have said: "I did -not accept the invitation because I feared I might become involved in some trouble over Herr Hitler's persecution of Jews, and I am of the Jewish faith. In fact, I told the Olympic authorities not to select me." It was stated earlier that Cohen withdrew from the team as ho had sjgned a professional contract three days previously.
