GOLDEN WEDDING

MR. AND MRS. J. GRAHAM The golden wedding of Mr. and Mrs. J. Graham, of Grey Lynn, was celebrated yesterday. Born in Ireland in 1861 Mr. Graham arrived in New Zealand by the sailing ship Dauntless in 1865. He resided in Thames for 19 years before settling in Auckland. Formerly Miss Clara Ross, Mrs. Graham was born in Auckland, but was taken by her parents to Thames when only an infant. The marriage took place in St. George's Church, Thames, on April 28, 1886. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. F. G. Evans, now Archdeacon Evans, who yesterday sent a telegram of congratulation to the happy couple. A printer by trade, Mr. Graham served his apprenticeship on the Thames Star and later was employed by the New Zealand Herald. After 45 years' service with the Heiuld Mr. Graham retired four years ago. There were four children, three of whom are living There are nine grand-children.
