BALL AT WHANGAREI

THE COMFORTS FUND The masquerade ball organised by the Whangarei Comforts Club and held in the Town Hall was a very successful event. The hall was beautifully decorated with gaily-coloured cardboard figures, balloons and Chinese lanterns, as well as with artificial lighting effects. The grand inarch was led by 50 couples in fancy costumes, making a spectacular opening to the ball. The prize for the best-dressed couple in fancy costume was awarded to Miss Vera Walker (early Victorian ladv) and Mr. F. Hill (pierrot). Mrs. A. D.
