INLAND AIR MAILS
DISAPPOINTING RESULTS CONTINUATION UNLIKELY [by TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] CHRISTCHURCH, Tuesday Referring to air mails to-day, the Postmaster-General, the Hon. F. Jones, said th<» alteration in the timetable of Union Airways was not under the Government's control. There was only a tentative arrangement between the Department and Union Airways for three months, and at the end of that period the contract would be considered. The amount of mail carried had fallen far below expectations, said Mr. Jones, and unless there was a big improvement there was little likelihood of the air mail being continued after the three months.
