ASSOCIATION'S GOOD YEAR VISIT OF INDIAN TEAM [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] CHRISTCHURCH, Tuesday With accumulated cash assets of about £I2OO at the end of the most successful year in its history, enthusiasm was general at the annual meeting of the New Zealand Hockey Association to-night. In moving the adoption of the annual report the president, Mr. H. S. J. Goodman, said the visit of the Indian team was a remarkable success, although it was very hurriedly arranged. Only two local associations were out of pocket. In view of the successful financial result, it was hoped the association would not have financial worries over future tours. Throughout New Zealand hockey had received a great impetus from the tour. The manager of the Indian team, said. Mr. Goodman, had said his federation would be glad to. see a New Zealand team visit India, but it could not offer financial assistance. It was estimated that the cost of such a tour would bo £3OOO, so it would be realised that a visit to India was a very long way off. The net profit on the' Indian team's tour was £770. Officers were elected as follows: Patron, the Governor-General, Lord Galway; president, Mr. Goodman; vice-presi-dents, presidents of affiliated associations; treasurer, Mr. P. N. Quartermain; auditor, Mr. A. Stewart; committee. Messrs. R. Gracie, C. S. Bellamy, G. Strack, H. Thorp, C. C. Holland, A. F. Preston and H. Bell; secretary, Mr. W. H. Down.
