A track about four feet out from the rails was available. The going was slightly slippery on the surface, after a sharp frost. Happy Hunting (W. Broughton) drew away from Hunting Lodge (S. Anderson) over five furlongs and won by about four lengths in 1.5 1-5. Widden (C. Thomson) and Forest Glow (B. Browne) finished together after seven furlongs in 1.36 2-5, but the former was travelling very comfortably. He has only to jump decently to make liis presence felt in the hurdle events at Woodvillo.

Tail Light (W. Broughton) and Miss Pango (L. H. Jones) left live furlongs behind in 1.9 4-5. Miss Tango has rejoined L. Knapp's team. Star Flier (Broughton) ran five furlongs in 1.9 2-5. This filly has been off her feed.

Petrarch (Tattersall), who will revert to flat company to-morrow, had Gold Cure (Pine) as a partner over a mile. Gold Cure led early, but the Arausio gelding was about two lengths clear at the finishing point, in 1.50.

- Saltspray (A. McDonald), although he hesitated at each fence, jumped quite well. Princess Ruth (M. H. Nicol) displayed excellent promise. She hit one fenco along the back very hard, but on being brought back again, she flow it beautifully.

Morrath, who carried the colours of R. E. Hatch in her earlier racing, is to bo prepared for further jumping by the hurdle horseman W. McDowell.

TE RAPA TRACK WORK FOG ENVELOPS COURSE BOUGHAL'S SPRINT THE BEST [by TELEGRAPH —OWN correspondent] HAMILTON, Tuesday The course proper, 60 feet out from the rails was in comparatively good order for training at Te llapa this morning, but owing to a thick fog enveloping the course until a late hour the majority of horses were restricted to useful work. Few jumpers were schooled. The best effort of the morning on the flat was that of Boughal. He came home from the five furlong peg in 1.7£, the last half-mile in 545. Boughal is entered for the Egmont meeting next month and will lack nothing on the score of condition.

Lucidus jumped off two lengths behind Orac, but was on terms at the end of five furlongs run in 1.8 1-5, the final half-mile occupying 565. Trouvaille, Cappy and Respectful were companions in a five, furlongs effort, finishing close together in I.BJ. Trouvaille and Cappy were to race at the Egmont meeting. No Fooling finished better than Te Monatekapa at the completion of a round in 2.16.

Horses restricted to strong pace tasks were Travelling Agent, Black Man, Sinking Fund and Curlew. Mangukaha was shading Kurakaha at the end of half-a-mile in 555. The former bears a healthy appearance. Raeewhip (A. Gilmer) shaped well over four hurdles in company with Kanapa (J. Smith), whoso exhibition was indifferent. Grand Score (Smith) handled two fences in encouraging style. Arack jumped two hurdles in a satisfactory manner and is coming on well.
