His success on Gold Rod in the A.J.C. Sires' Produce Stakes, earned for M. McCarten a percentage ot 412 H 6s; on Contact, in the Sydney Cup, he earned-£IBB 15s; and on Cuddle in the Doncaster Handicap, £99. incse three races were worth £4OB in winning fees. Probably the finest fencer in Southland is Panocha, says an exchange, an opini&n based on the fact that she gave two beautiful exhibitions at Riyerton while she fasted.
