[by telegraph—own correspondent] WHAKATANE, Tuesday The official opening of the Northern District branch of tho Hibernian Australasian Catholic Benefit Society took place last /night at the Whakatane band room. Officers and members were installed by the grand district president, Bro. P. R. Franchi, and Bro. «• 11- Hay, district vice-president, and •kro. W. A. Walsh, district secretary, of Auckland.
