THAMES DRAINAGE

INCLUSION OF NEW AREAS SETTLERS' OBJECTION UPHELD [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] TE AROHA, Tuesday The finding of the Drainage Commission, which recently sat in To Aroha to adjudicate upon the request of the Thames Valley Drainage Board to include certain areas of Manawaru and Te Aroha West within its jurisdiction, has now been received. Summarised, the commission's report indicates that the case of the settlers objecting to the proposed inclusion has been completely sustained. In the opinion of the commissioners, the two districts concerned form an entirely different watershed and no special benefits would accrue to the settlers if their districts were administered by the Drainage Board. Costs of tho inquiry were awarded against the Drainage Board.
