SURPRISE FOR DOCTOR
When he wantid a young locum tenons, Dr. R. F. Divicha. of Salford, England, instructed a medical agency. Dr. Ralph Henry Browne-Carthew, of London, arrived. Looking through a window, Dr. Divicha saw Dr. BrownoCarthew getting out of a taxicab. Dr. Browne-Carthew was 80 years .of age. At Westminister County Court recently, Dr. Browne-Carthew claimed £22 from Dr. Divicha. Mr. Roger Winn, for Dr. Browno-Carthew, explained that it was in dispute between Dr. Divicha and the agency whether he intimated that he required a young man. Mr. Justice Dumas held that the agency had authority to engage a locum tenons and that Dr. Divicha formed the wrong impression that he was seeing in Dr. Browne-Carthew "a tottering old man." Allowing £3 10s for board and lodging, Judge Dumas awarded £lB 4s and costs to Dr. Browno-Carthew.
