SHEEPDOG TRIALS
TUAKAU DISTRICT CLUB [from our own correspondent] TUAKAU, Thursday Fine weather favoured the Tuakau District Sheepdog Trial Club's ninth annual dog trials, which concluded to-day. The meeting, which was held on Mr. C. Smced's property, Tuakau, attracted leading competitors, but entries fell somewhat short of the total of last year. The programme comprised four classes and results were:— Long Head, Pull. Drive Round Ring.— Fraser Smith's Highland King (Awakino). 43 points, 1; B. Ellis' Queen Second (Wairamarama), 41}, 2; Brown Tongas Boy (Pukekawa), 381, 3; H. Buckley's Storm (Port Waikato), J. Caswell s Clan (Pukekawa) and E. H. Sloan's Glen (Whangarei). SIS. equal. 4. Short Head, Pull. Drive and Yard.—H. Buckley's Fay, 53} points. 1; Martin Mac key's Fame (Pukekawa), 51, 2; J. Watsoii'b Eh Timi (Wniramnrama), 49}. 3; Fraser Smith's Highland King. 49. 4. Zig-zag Huntaway.—J. Caswell's Dice. 84 points, 1; Fraser Smith's Toss, 33}, 2; Martin Mackey's Ben. 32. 3; D. Calvert's (Awakino), 31}. 4. Head, Pull Back, Hold in Ring and Huntaway.—F. King's Don (Awakino), 42* points, 1; Fraser Smith's Highland King, 41}, 2; E. Johnson's Tip (Putaruru), 41, 3; J. Colman's Toby (Wairamarama), 34, 4.
