YACHTING
H RACE TO COROMANDEL The annual yacht race from Auckland to Coromandel started from King s Wharf on Thursday evening. The race was divided into two classes, keel yachts and centreboard boats, and they were sent away together at 7.38 p.m. The entries and handicaps were as follows: — - , Keel ./Yachts.—Altair, Windward. scr -—Tainui. 20m; Queenie. 22m; Speedwell. -sm. Roiaata, 40m; Valdora, 45m: Dolphin. oOm; _ Niobe (no extras). 55m; Medina. 60m. Tofua. 80m. c . Mullet Boats.—Omatere. Celox. scr: btarJorh. Starlight. 7m; Calypso. 20m: 25m, Mirage. 30m: Aurora. 3om; Sea Horse 40m; Halcyone (no extras). oOm. The start was a good one, and when tne yachts left a full sail breeze from the north-east was blowing which gave them beat to their destination. The finishing times were:— Keel Boats.—Altair, 4.30 a.m.; Queenie. 657 a.m.: Roiaata. 6.24 a.m. Centreboards.—Celox. 5.17 a.m.; Omatere. 6.20 a.m.; Starloch. 6.9 a.m.
