MT. HOBSON SPORTS AREA

Sir, —Last Sunday I went to the top of Mount Hobson, and was struck by the fact that, with very little excavation and labour, the old crater could bo turned into an excellent playing field handy to the city. Has this area ever been thought of for the purpose? Tennis could be provided for, and there would be a natural ampitheatre for thousands of spectators. League or llugby fields could easily be formed without in any way detracting; from the natural view which is obtained of the harbour. What about this type of work for the unemployed? It certainly would improve the prcriant condition and give playing areas close to the city for future generations. For an almost perfect stadium this would be hard to beat. Visitob.
