SYDNEY ROYAL SHOW
RECORD ENTRIES RECEIVED CATTLE AROUSE INTEREST (Received April 6, 11.25 p.m.) SYDNEY, April 6
The Royal Easter Show opened today in glorious weather. The whole day was devoted to judging the fat beef and dairy cattle, and also the pigs. The entries in every section were a record. The recently imported New Zealand Ayrshire heifers exhibited by Messrs. Korff Brothers attracted considerable attention when the 12 to 18-months-old animals were paraded. They were more forward grown and heavier in the bone than the locally-bred stock, which gained first, second, and third awards, the New Zealand animals being fourth. The Aberdeen Angus cattle were judgpd by Mr. H. B. Williams, of Gisborne, New Zealand, and he was also one of the judges of the fat cattle. He stated that the Aberdeen Angus classes disclosed astounding improvement, and it was very difficult to fault the champion bull.
