SCOUT JAMBOREE

GATHERING AT TE AROHA RESULTS OF COMPETITIONS [BY TELEGRAPH OWN CORRESPONDENT] TE AROHA, Monday About 200 boy scouts and cubs took part in a jamboree at Te Aroha at the week-end, when representatives of the Matamata, Morrinsville, Te Poi, Waitoa, Putaruru, Turua and Te Aroha troops took part. The fixture was under the control of the district commissioner, Mr. F. G. Southon, of Te Poi, and the district cubmaster, Mr. It. A\atson, of Morrinsville. Troop commanders were: Messrs. A. H. Turtle (Matamata), A. Tribble (Turua). D. Budd (Te Aroha), G. McNeil (Waitoa), G. Whyte (Morrinsville), A. J. Bell (Te Poi) and Mrs. Tulloch (Putaruru). The competitions resulted: —lent pitching: Waitoa, 1; Te Aroha, 2. Tug-of-war: Turua, 1; Te Poi, 2; Te Aroha, 3. One mile handicap: Stuck (le Aroha), 1; Metherell (Te Aroha), 2. A special exhibition of bridge building was given by the Te Poi troop.
