TREES IN RESERVE CUT
BUSHMAN FINED £5 [by TKLEGItAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION*] GREYMOUTH, Monday For cutting three trees in a scenic reserve at Harihari, James Glass, a bushman, was fined £5 in the Greymouth Magistrate's Court to-day. Stated to bo the first of its kind in the. district, the prosecution was brought as a warning to sawmillers. The fine included £3 18s 9d, double the royalty on the trees cut. On behalf of defendant it was stated that ho acted inadvertently, the boundary of the reserve not being clearly marked.
