FIRST SIGHT OF TRAIN
MAN AGED 70 YEARS Stating that it was the most interesting day of his life, Mr. William Plater, a 70-year-old resident of Taloumbi, New South Wales, saw a train for the first time at Billinudgel. ( Taloumbi is 50 miles from the nearest railway, and Mr. -Plater, who is essentially a retiring man, had never been in a railway town while a train was there, although he has visited Grafton on various occasions, and has been to Tenterfield and other centres. Mr, Plater visited relatives at Billinudgel the other day, and 50 relatives and friends accompanied him to the station to witness the MurwillumbahByron Bay excufsion train passing through. Mr. Plater was greatly impressed and promised himself a train trip at the earliest opportunity.
