CROQUET AT HOME

NEW LYNN CLUB The New Lynn Croquet Club held its annual At Home on the lawns recently when, in spite of unsettled weather, there was a representative gathering of visitors and friends. Players were present from the Henderson, Glen Eden, Avondale, Hallyburton-John-stone, Rocky Nook, Malvern and Ponsonby Clubs'. The patroness, Mrs. C. F. Gardner, was present, and was received by the president, Mrs. H. Whyte. A stall and tearoom did excellent business. Prize-winners were as follows: — Morning Session. —A: First, Mrs. Mickleborough; hidden number, Mrs. Hutchinson; consolation, Mrs. Johnstone. B: First, Mrs. Philips; hidden number, Mrs. Laurie; consolation, Mrs. Lucene. Afternoon Session. —A: First, Mrs. Hutchinson; hidden number, Miss Clark; consolation, Mrs. Hyde. B: First, Mrs. Cutler; hidden number, Mrs. Forbes-Dawson; consolation, Mrs. Carter. ___
